Collection: JAPANESE WHITE PINE(五葉松)

Pinus parviflora, also known as five-needle pine(五葉松Ulleungdo white pine), or Japanese white pine, is a pine in the white pine group, Pinus subgenus Strobus, native to Japan. The basic varieties are distributed in the mountainous areas of Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu. Japanese bonsai craftsmen named them after the place where they were found, for example, Mount Nasu (那須岳, Nasu-dake), Shikoku (四国), and Azuma Mountains(吾妻山). Among them, the bonsai varieties or yatsubusa(八房) mainly come from Nasu.
